Samsung Genio TXTThis new Genio sports no touch screen and simple GSM connectivity. The big feature for the QWERTY is its namesake keyboard. The full portrait oriented keyboard came close to being difficult to use due to its slightly flatter buttons. Fortunately, the space between the keys makes it easy for anyone without thick fingers to use. Otherwise, expect to make a lot of typos when using this device. It is not quite packed in terms of features, but at least it works decently as a media player.

By its name alone, you can tell that Samsung really meant that this device be for the messaging market, the design of the makes it even more specific, its small, and comes in pretty hip designs making it a good choice for teens and young adults.

Hardware and Features

The phone concentrates mostly on the messaging features made accessible through the keyboard. As stated, the keyboard has its share of problems. Good thing for people who are patient enough with the hardware is the the Genio QWERTY has built in functions for messaging and email.

Media playback comes as the second main specialty of the device. The FM radio and music playback capabilities are pretty nice. The battery can support up to 390 hours to standby time –convert that to music playback hours and you get a good player for a whole day.

The 2 mega pixel camera may be low spec for most smart phone people, but since this phone is mostly for messaging, the camera’s nice snap shot capabilities are often more than enough. The 2.2 inch screen is perfect for viewing the images and videos you can shoot with the phone.

Avilability

The Genio QWERTY is currently available on both deals and pay as you go deals. On contract, the phone is free on T-Mobile, Orange and Vodafone plans.
