The Galaxy Spica i5700 is the latest Samsung/Google Android phone to hit the market. It is fast, one of the fastest mobile phones available with a 800 MHz processor. Only 13.22 mm thick, one of its most outstanding features is its built-in DivX support. The latter feature has been the cause of a great deal of buzz. The phone’s DivX capabilities have movie buffs excited. Those persons who enjoy watching movies on their mobiles will likely find this phone to be a gem, if only for that reason.

Besides the phone’s DivX capabilities and few other departures, the Galaxy Spica i5700 is similar to other phones in the Android family. One strike, however, if you want to call it that, against the Spica is its memory storage or lack-their- of. It doesn’t have a great deal of it. The phone comes standard with 180 MB. However, more can be added with a MicroSD card, an additional 32GB in fact.

Because this is a Samsung/Google Android, users will have easy access to just about all of Google’s services. They will be able to check and view email, via Gmail. They will also be able to utilize Google’s search functions, watch Google videos and even view Google Maps.

While the Spica’s has just recently been confirmed by Samsung in the United States, it is already being sold in Europe and CIS (Commonwealth of States). Samsung has plans to begin selling the phone in Asia, the Middle East and the United States very soon.

The Spica i5700 is the second Android phone by Spica. The company has made some significant upgrades and added a few new features, namely DivX. This particular feature has gotten many people excited and is what most discussion of the phone is centered around. Those in Europe and CIS can purchased the phone today. O2 is the national carrier in Europe. No word if that will be extended to any other carrier.
